Germany, Brazil, Argentina….there was plenty of underachievement amongst the big boys in the opening round of group matches, and France were right up there with them. Okay, so they got the 2-1 win over Australia, but they will need to improve here against a game Peruvian outfit. Here are our France vs Peru betting tips.
Les Bleus needed an own goal – assisted by Paul Pogba’s shot – to clinch all three points after a hard-working Australia side gave them a terrific battle on Saturday.
France had opened the scoring from the penalty spot courtesy of Antoine Griezmann, before the tables were turned when Samuel Umtiti handled in the box and Mile Jedinak pulled the Socceroos level.
You can’t really say that the French deserved their winner, because but for the first 15 minutes it was a rather tepid display from Didier Deschamps’ men.
Are they vulnerable on Thursday then to an enterprising Peru outfit? You would certainly say so, how do our France ve Peru betting tips pan out?

France vs Peru Betting Tips
The Peruvians gave Denmark a hell of a scare in their Group C opener. The South Americans missed a penalty and besieged Kasper Schmeichel’s goal, but they just couldn’t find a way past the Leicester City stopper. They will consider that match as the one that got away.
Can they repeat that intensity against France? That’s down to the players and the coaching staff, but if they can they will give Les Bleus another tough examination.
The French front three of Antoine Griezmann, Kylian Mbappe and Ousman Dembele didn’t quite click in Kazan, and you wonder if Deschamps will be tempted to turn to Olivier Giroud through the middle. The Peruvian central defensive duo of Cristian Ramos and Alberto Rodriguez both stand short of six-foot, and some lofted crosses into the box might just create an opening or two for the Chelsea frontman.
Either way, France will need to defend better than they did against the Aussies; especially Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez down the flanks.
This is a curious betting heat where France to win and Peru with a one-goal handicap are both roughly the same price. By that token, we have to back the French to get it right and claim victory at 6/10 (1.60) with William Hill.
